SUNSET
By W. T. Block

- Ever watch the setting sun,
- Split in half by horizon?
- Nature's gift for everyone
- To wonder.
- How I love to sit and view!
- In ecstasy, my eyes pursue
- Each glaring gleam of golden hue
- As I ponder.

- My cares subside before its rays
- As there beside its throne I gaze
- Its radiant smile completely stays
- All sorrow.
- In hope, I take my tasks in hand.
- With joy, I grasp its promise grand,
- To furnish me a starry night and
- Fair tomorrow.
